Admission 2025

Admission Process
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) primarily use the Common Admission Test (CAT) as the initial step in their MBA program admissions process. Shortlisted candidates based on CAT scores then participate in further rounds, including a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). The final selection is based on a composite score considering CAT, WAT, PI, and other factors like academic and work experience.
More details about this:
1. CAT Examination:
Candidates need to register for and appear for the CAT exam, which is conducted by the IIMs.
CAT assesses candidates in three main areas: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA).
2. Shortlisting for WAT and PI:
IIMs release separate shortlists based on CAT scores and other criteria specified by each institute.
Candidates who meet the minimum sectional and overall percentile cutoffs are invited for the next stage, which includes WAT and PI.
3. Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI):
WAT assesses a candidate's ability to express their thoughts and ideas in writing.
PI evaluates a candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for the program.
4. Final Selection:
The final selection is based on a composite score, taking into account CAT scores, WAT/PI performance, academic background, work experience, and other relevant factors.
Each IIM has its specific weightage for each of these components.
Admission offers are typically sent out in May.

Scholarship

Types of Scholarships and Financial Aid at IIMs:
Merit-based Scholarships:

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships:
Combine academic merit with financial need, providing support to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
Need-Based Financial Assistance:
Offered to students who demonstrate a significant financial need, often based on family income and other relevant factors.
Specific Scholarships:
Some IIMs have specific scholarships funded by alumni, corporate partners, or other organizations.
Educational Loans:
Many IIMs facilitate access to educational loans through partnerships with banks, making it easier for students to finance their MBA studies.
