The Common Admission Test, or CAT exam, is a common aptitude test that candidates must pass in order to be considered for MBA programmes at India’s 20 IIMs and over 1,200 B-schools. Every year, around two lakh people apply for the test. MCQs and non-MCQs from Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability make up the CAT question paper (QA). Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the CAT Exam, a candidate must have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50%. (for General Category and for candidates from the NC-OBC caste). The necessary percentage for SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) applicants is 45 percent.

Application Form 2022:
A user ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s registered email address and cellphone number after verification. To access the application form, log in again using your CAT 2022 user ID and password.
- In a different window, go to the official CAT website.
- Under the ‘New Candidate Registration’ page, select ‘Register.’
- Enter your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, and country of origin.
- Go to the ‘Generate OTP’ tab.
- An OTP will be given to the registered cellphone number after successful registration.

Exam 2022: What’s New?
On November 28, 2022, the CAT 2022 test was held in three two-hour periods. IIM Ahmedabad, which held CAT this year, entirely revised the test design for CAT 2022, resulting in a lower number of questions. On November 27, 2022, IIM Bangalore is slated to hold the CAT 2022 Exam.

Test Comparison:
The varied subjects and parts are one of the primary variances between the CAT and XAT syllabuses. The CAT test does not feature a Decision Making component or a General Knowledge section, however the XAT exam does. Another significant distinction is the difficulty level of the XAT vs. CAT exams.
