In 1992, the Council of Higher Secondary Education of Manipur (COHSEM) was created. The board is in charge of conducting Manipur’s 12th-grade examinations.

Board Programme:
As the state’s first public test, the Council held the Higher Secondary Examination in 1993. The Class 12 Exams are coordinated by the Council. The Higher Secondary Examination is held in the months of February and March, with the improvement tests held in June. Higher Secondary exam results are usually announced in the third week of May.

Eligibility Criteria (by class):
According to the COHSEM qualifying standards, candidates must have passed the class 9 test in order to appear for the Manipur Board of Secondary Education 10th examination. They must also have completed class 10 at a Board-affiliated institution during the current academic year.
Students must achieve a minimum of 33% in 10th or 11th grade, as well as pass the COHSEM 12th examinations in 2022.
