The online application window for the first Common University Entrance Exam (CUET) 2022 for admission to undergraduate programs will open from April 2. National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification regarding CUET.

The first computer based CUET will be conducted in 13 languages. Interested candidates can fill the online application form till 30 April. The merit score of this entrance test will lead to a compulsory admission seat in undergraduate programs in all 45 central universities. Whereas Deemed, State and Private Universities can enroll in graduate programs from this merit score if they wish. The test will be objective type and the questions will be multiple choice. The special thing is that Shastri’s three and four year (Hons) degree will now be considered equivalent to BA-BA Hons.

The notification has been issued by Dr. Sadhna Parashar, Senior Director of NTA. All the questions asked in CUET will be based on the syllabus of 12th Board Exam. Students who are studying in class 12th this year and if any university allows students who passed 12th board exam last year to take admission in 2022 can also appear in this CUET.

CUET will be conducted in a total of 13 Indian languages ??apart from Hindi, English. Students can choose their preferred language. It will have English including Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Hindi. The compulsory paper test in CUET will have to be given in any one of these Indian languages.

Choose from 27 domains and up to six subjects

CUET has 27 domains based on the four-year undergraduate degree program. Students will have the option to have a choice of at least one of these 27 and a maximum of six domains i.e. subject.  This includes Accountancy or Computer Accountancy, Biology or Biology Studies or Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science or Informatics Practice, Economics or Business Economics, Engineering Graphics, Entrepreneurship, Geography, History, Home Science, Knowledge Tradition – Practice in India, Legal , Commercial Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education or NCC, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Teaching Aptitude, Agriculture, Mass Media or Mass Communication, Anthropology, Fine Art or Visual Art (Sculpture or painting) Performing Arts (Dance, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Odissi, Drama, Theatre, Music General, There will be Hindustani, Music, Persian-Non-Persian and Sanskrit subjects.

Exam pattern

CUET will have three sections. Section A i.e. Hindi, English including 13 will be based on Indian language paper. It will be compulsory for all the students. There will be 50 questions in this section, out of which 40 have to be answered in 45 minutes. While Section One-B will be optional for students studying foreign language or literature. It will be for those students who want to pursue Bachelor’s degree in BA French etc.

It will have French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Tibetan, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Bodo. Students can choose their favorite among these. Whereas, Section B will be a compulsory paper. In this, the student has to choose at least one of his favorite domains and maximum six domains i.e. subject. In this paper, students will get the option to write in 13 Indian languages ??including Hindi, English. There will be 50 multiple choice questions, out of which 40 have to be answered in 45 minutes. Whereas Section C will be General Paper. Questions from General Knowledge etc. will be asked in this. In this, 60 out of 75 questions have to be answered. The student will get 60 minutes for this.
