The GATE exam (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a computer-based standardised test administered at the national level in India to assess undergraduate students’ knowledge of several engineering and scientific courses. For engineering graduates seeking admissions and/or financial assistance to Postgraduate Programs such as Master’s and Doctoral with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government Scholarships / Assistantships that are subject to the admission criteria’s of the institutes, passing the GATE exam is a mandatory requirement.Some public sector undertakings (PSUs) utilise GATE test results for recruitment, while numerous other institutions in India and overseas use GATE exam results for admissions.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Before beginning the GATE application process, all GATE candidates must confirm that they satisfy the GATE eligibility requirements.
- Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to take the GATE exam:
- Students who have finished their 10+2+2 or 10+3+1 and are enrolled in the third year or higher of any undergraduate degree programme (10+2+3 (ongoing) programmes).
- Students who have finished a degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, or the Arts that has been sanctioned by the government.
- Students in their last year of a Master’s degree programme in any discipline of science, mathematics, computer applications, or equivalent.
- There is no upper age limit for students who are qualified to take the GATE test.

Exam Updates 2022:
The dates are February 5 to 13, 2022.
The exam will be computer-based and will take place from February 5 to 13, 2022. It will be held in two sessions: one in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and another in the afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Application Form 2022:
- While filling out the GATE 2022 application form, the following documents/information are necessary.
- Personal information such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, phone number, parents’ names, phone numbers, and so on.
- Address for communication (including PIN code).
- Details about the degree of eligibility.
- Name and location of the college (with PIN code).
- Paper for GATE (subject).
- Cities for GATE examinations can be chosen.
- Scanned image of the candidate’s picture and signature in the format and dimensions specified.
- a scanned copy of the eligibility certificate in pdf format (a degree or provisional certificate, or a certificate from the department/head) institute’s (in the format specified).
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST), PwD, or Dyslexic certificate in pdf format (where applicable).

Exam 2022: What’s New?
General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics will be mandatory sections in GATE 2022, with each receiving 15% of the total points in GATE papers with codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF, and XE. The student’s chosen subject will receive the remaining 70% of the weighting.

Answer Key:
The GATE 2022 answer key will be released in pdf format by IIT Kharagpur. Candidates will have a certain amount of time to file objections to the GATE 2022 answer key. Note that GATE students must pay a fee of Rs. 500 (per question) to challenge the GATE answer key 2022. Along with the solution key, the GATE question paper will be provided. IIT Kharagpur will release the final GATE 2022 solution key after reviewing the problems. The correct answers to the questions given in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be included in the GATE 2022 answer key.

Test Comparison:
The GATE test is far more demanding than the NET exam. The NET test is held twice a year, but the GATE exam is held just once a year. The GATE score is valid for 3 years and a candidate can appear for exam any number of times.
