Now this situation is expected to change soon. Because the preparation for preparing journalists within the Union Territory has started. In this sequence, the University of Jammu i.e. University of Jammu has taken the initiative to prepare journalists within the state.

Vice Chancellor said – it was long awaited

Actually, the Department of Journalism and Media Studies has been started in Jammu University. University Vice Chancellor Manoj Dhar has inaugurated this department on Saturday. Addressing the faculty members, journalism department members and students on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Manoj Dhar said that this step was long awaited in the field. Now his wish is going to come true.

In addition to classes, there will be practical and interactive programs

Vice-Chancellor Dhar said that the Department of Journalism and Media Studies has now started in the university. In addition to the regular classes and lecture programmes, its curriculum focuses on continuous interaction programs with the eminent journalists of this country, regular practical workshops, latest technical know-how related to the media world, special lectures, media lab practicals, media tours and placement oriented programs etc. Will go

Language labs and community radio stations are also being built

The Vice Chancellor said that a Media Studies Center would also be established under the department. This will include oral history cell, language laboratory and community radio stations. These are all ready and in the final stages of completion. Once they are fully prepared, students will be able to gain hands-on experience in handling the skills and latest equipment related to the media industry. Vice Chancellor Dhar expressed confidence that the department would be an important part of the university and would in the coming days create our brand ambassadors through pass out students.
