Nine new degree programs are being added from the upcoming academic session 2022-23 keeping in view the demand and increasing employment opportunities in the fashion, urban and sports sectors. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has added nine new degree programs in the fields of engineering, architecture, sports, design, technology. For this, the commission has also issued a gazette notification. The special thing is that better employment opportunities are available in all these sectors.

On behalf of the Secretary of the University Grants Commission, Prof Rajneesh Jain, in this regard, all the universities and states have been directed to implement it from the coming academic session. The universities and higher educational institutions will have to reach out to the students and teachers about starting these new age degree programs. This information will have to be given on the website and campus notice board. In fact, with smart cities, urbanization and the formation of new cities, there is a need for professionals in urban design in view of the need of experts in this area.

At the same time, sports is now a new emerging employment sector. Apart from this, it is the largest market hub in the world in the fashion sector. There are better employment opportunities available in it.

Bot will now be four and a half years old

As per the UGC notification, the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) will now be of four and a half years instead of four and a half. The eligibility for admission in this will be 12th class pass. Apart from this, the Master of Computer Application (MCA) will now be of two years instead of three uniformly in all universities. In this, if the students of any stream enroll in the MCA program, then the duration of the degree for them will also be two years.

Now do certificate course in online digital marketing from             

From the academic session 2022-23, Jamia Millia Islamia will now offer online certificate courses in digital marketing. The window for filling the online application form is going to open on the university website from Sunday. Classes will start from April 15. According to the university administration, Jamia’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) is going to launch this online digital marketing certificate.
