UGC NET JRF
UGC NET JRF: The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday announced that it has decided to extend the validity period of JRF by one year. That is, it has been decided to extend the period of three years by one more year. This is applicable only to all those UGC NET qualified candidates whose admission process was affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Along with this, UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar said that there is a plan to conduct CUET twice a year for admission in universities. For this, talks have been held with the National Testing Agency. He said that from the next session i.e. next year, CUET i.e. Common University Entrance Exam will be conducted once in a year.
What is UGC NET JRF
The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year. It is a national level eligibility test. The examination will be conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The exam was held in November 2021-January 2022
Let us inform that the UGC NET JRF 2021 exam was conducted from November 20, 2021 to January 05, 2022. The exam dates were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on October 22, 2021 through a notification released on the official website of UGC NET. Candidates who had registered for UGC NET December 2020 but were unable to complete the application process, the same period will be applicable for the same students.
Preparing to conduct CUET twice a year
Professor Jagdish Kumar told that the importance of board examinations will not be reduced due to CUET. Nor will it encourage the practice of coaching. State board students will also not suffer from this. At the same time, he told that NTA is considering to conduct CUET twice a year from the upcoming session. He said that CUET will not be limited to Central University only. Many private universities have expressed their desire to join it.
CUET exam will be based on 12th syllabus
To the question whether CUET will promote the practice of coaching? On this, Professor Kumar said that there is no question of promoting the practice of coaching. The exam will be completely based on the 12th syllabus. Many students are apprehensive whether questions from class 11 will also be asked in the exam? The answer is no.
All board students will get equal opportunity in UGC CUET
UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar said that with the conduct of CUET, all state board students will get equal opportunity for admission in central universities. He said that all the state boards have different evaluation criteria for class 12th students and also the level of examination. Due to which there is a difference in the marks of the examinees. If the result of the state board is high, then the students of that state get admission in large numbers. Those whose result is less, then students are able to take less admission there. In such a situation, CUET will provide equal opportunity to all in the entrance exam based on class 12th NCERT syllabus.
