M.Lib.Sc. (Master of Library and Science) is a postgraduate programme that combines advanced study of library and information science concepts and practises with modern technology used to these processes. Students learn the fundamentals of IT science as well as library administration skills in this curriculum. It primarily covers information systems and technology, collection management, research methods, categorization and cataloguing, preservation, statistics, database management, reference, information architecture, and knowledge management, among other topics. This course focuses on information processing and access to all forms of information, not only library-related tasks. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from an Indian institution.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percent to 60 percent aggregate.
  • Applicants holding a B.Lib.Sc. (Bachelor of Library & Science) or B.Lib.Sc. (Bachelor of Library Science) degree are given more consideration.
  • One of the qualifying requirements for admission is a minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2.
  • To be eligible for the M.Lib.Sc. programme, candidates must have all of the aforementioned qualifications. The M.Lib.Sc. (Master of Library & Science) qualifying standards differ widely from one institute to the next.

Admission Process:

Before beginning their M.Lib.Sc. studies at any college in India, candidates must fulfil various processes. Merit entrance and direct admission are the two options for M.Lib.Sc admission. The first is a merit method, in which applicants are admitted based on their academic qualifications. Candidates are shortlisted by institutions based on their grades in the 12th grade. How to apply?

  • After clearing the admission exam, applicants must submit the required documentation.
