Eligibility Criteria:
Possess a Master’s Degree from a University recognised by the UGC or any other qualification recognised as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55 percent marks [50 percent marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer), Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per UGC’s decision from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to and passes IGNOU’s national entrance test.
Admission Process:
Admission to the Ph.D. programme will be determined by the student’s performance on the entrance exam administered by the relevant department or school at the university or institute. Candidates who have passed the GATE/NET/SET/ M.Phil/JRF examinations in relevant subjects administered by apex organisations such as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT would be excluded from the Entrance Test. The institute’s Departmental Committee may evaluate the student’s research work/earlier Ph.D./experience when granting the exemption. A student may be excluded from the admission test and pre-Ph.D. coursework if he or she already has a Doctorate degree in a related topic from a UGC Approved University or Institute. The student will be able to pay the course cost or registration fee after completing both processes. Only the designated number of people are allowed.
