PhD(Doctor of Philosophy) In program shall be based on the candidate mark obtained in the entrance test conducted by the respective department of school of the particular or each university or college. Those candidates who have completed their GATE or NET/SET/ M.Phil Examination in the pertinent subjects of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR will be disowned from the Entrance Test. While giving the exemptions, the Departmental Committee of the university may be considered research work or earlier Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) or experience done by the candidate. If a candidate already holds a Doctor of degree in the relevant subjects from the UGC Approved University or College, he or she may be exempted from the entrance exam and pre Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) coursework. After clearing both steps the candidates will be eligible to pay the course fee or registration fee. Only the predetermined number of candidates may be admitted to the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) program of Journalism and Mass Communication.
